We officially have a tie-breaker!! A 5th baby is growing inside me and I can hardly believe it! If you missed our announcement, you can see it, here. With my other 4 at such a fun age right now, I wanted to tell them in a fun way to capture their surprise- and all the emotions!
When we talk as a family, we make comments like "the girls" and "the boys" being that we are an equal house divided so far- 3 girls and 3 boys. But, this new baby is going to be our tie-breaker who will give one side the upper-hand on picking out the movie on Friday nights, relay races in the backyard, and picking a place to eat out as a family.
So let's dig in... from the mouth of the babes, this is how they felt and if they think the baby is going to be a girl or a boy...

How did you feel when you heard the news? "I was happy, but just so overwhelmed I can't really explain it. I was crying just tears of joy- I was so happy." Do you think it's a boy or girl? "I don't know, but I hope it's a girl"Nico, age 6
How did you feel when you heard your having a new brother or sister? "I felt really good, I did. I thought you (mom) was number 5, but then when you said you're having a baby, then I knew you were holding it for the baby." Do you think it's a boy or a girl? "Boy"Violette, age 4
How did you feel when you found out you're a big sister again? "I liked the celebration with balloons. That was fun" Do you think it's a boy or a girl? "Aunt Natalie is having a boy, so we are having a girl. But, I don't know since the baby is so small right now. I think a girl so we can play dress-ups"Lily, age 2
How did you feel when you heard the news? "puppies and babies" Do you think it's a boy or a girl? "A dink..." (which we could interpret as 'let me think', haha) Jude asked her and she said "boys"
